About Me

  • About Me: In order to describe who I am, I need to describe to Whom I belong---Jesus Christ. He is what makes me who I am and all that I can be! He is my Creator and the compass that directs my life. I am a mother, a daughter, an aunt and a friend. I am a big fan of animals, jazzercise, kickboxing, running, cross-country skiing, ice-skating, reading, writing, sharing the Word of God, prayer, praise and worship and quiet time with my KING. Life is awesome with God at the helm!!!

Food

  • Favorite Cuisine: I like the ethnic foods that I have had: Chinese, Indian, Moraccan, Mexican, etc. I also really liked my grandmother's cooking.
  • Favorite Dishes: Not really sure...something like, chicken and dumplings, made by my grandmother maybe...
  • Favorite Desserts: Doboche torte (I can't even remember how to spell it!!)
  • Favorite Drinks: Water, chai tea and skimmed milk
  • Favorite Junk Foods: Probably tortilla chips and salsa
  • Best meal ever: Most likely something one of my grandmothers cooked in the past. There is just nothing today to compare it to.
  • My Original Recipes: None...I really don't care to cook.

  • Foods I hate: Olives, although hate is a strong word!

  • Favorite Books: The irrefutable Word of God
  • Favorite Authors: Fiction-Kingsbury, Moser, Hill, Rivers, Jackson, Hickman, Blackstock, etc. Nonfiction-Moore, Weaver, Meyer, Partow, Backus, etc.
  • Favorite Genres: It used to be medieval literature--now it is what God leads me to read. The genre no longer matters.
  • Favorite Characters: Ruth, Nehemiah, Elijah, David...oh, you mean characters in fiction...none in particular...
  • Favorite Quotes: "Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less."
  • Recent Reads: Having A Mary Spirit, Recovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, much, much fiction...too many to list.

Music

  • Favorite Artists: Secular-Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, CCR, Beatles... Christian- Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, etc.
  • Favorite Albums: Not only do I rarely remember the titles of songs, I also have a difficult time remembering names of releases.
  • Favorite Genre: I prefer praise and worship but listen to most of the newer artists.
  • Favorite Songs: Well, after I wote the above, I had to get up and find my CDs to find the titles..."Who Am I?" by Casting Crowns and Chris Tomlin, "How Great Is Our God."
  • Favorite Lyrics: "Who Am I?" and "How Great Is Our God'" have beautiful and touching lyrics.
  • Songs for Roadtrips: Any of the above mentioned and many that aren't because I have forgotten them...
  • Songs I hate: Songs that speak evil, songs that speak violence, songs that curse the name of God...that type...and hate does describe it. I call it death music.
  • Guilty Pleasure: There is no guilt involved in Eric Clapton! Hip-Hop music sans the lyrics, of course.
  • Songs I repeat the most: The above mentioned...

  • Favorite Shows: Holmes on Homes--it's a home repair show.
  • Favorite Channels: Christian television, Home and Garden, Hallmark
  • Favorite Reruns: Andy Griffith, Little House on the Prarie, Waltons, Matlock, Dick Van Dyke, Lassie, etc--these would be my comfort "foods." I used to like "My Favorite Martian" and "Mr. Ed." Mindless and relaxing...
  • Most Addictive Show: Waltons I guess. Addictive...???
  • Favorite Late Night Talk Show: I am learning to like the talk show Hannity and Combs.

  • Show I Secretly Watch: I like an odd show called Dr. G-Medical Examiner for absolutely no reason...I just like it.

  • Favorite Movies: Because of Winn Dixie, Shawshank Redemption, Ice Age, Wizard of Oz, Vertical Limit, Nim's Island, John Q....
  • Favorite Actors: Maybe Denzel Washington or Jodi Foster~I have a hard time remembering actor's names...
  • Favorite Directors: No idea.
  • Favorite Genre: None in particular.
  • Favorite Soundtracks: Wizard of Oz...???Oh yeah, I used to like the soundtrack for the Bodyguard...
  • Movie Quotes I say all the time: None
  • Movies I can watch over and over: I really don't enjoy watching movies over and over.
  • Actor that would play me in a movie: I have absolutely no idea, but she would have to be a very different sort of thinker.

Style

  • Where I shop: LL Bean, Eddie Bauer---because they carry petites!!!
  • Brands I love: Above, although I wouldn't call it "love."
  • I like to wear: Above. Comfort and casual nature of attire are my aim in life. Comfort first. I don't care what the style actually is as long as my feet don't hurt and it fits me!
  • Can't live without: Is this stream of consciousness stuff...???---Answer: Jesus Christ in my life. I know that this was supposed to be an item of some sort but I really can live without just about anything but Him!
  • Prized Possessions: My NIV Life Application Study Bible--it's my favorite one!
  • Guilty Pleasure: Taking a day off from work just to read my Word and pray...

Travel

  • Places I love: Maine, New Hampshire, Adirondack Mountains
  • Places I've been: Lots--but I still like Maine and New Hampshire best.
  • Places to see before I die: Maybe Alaska and Washington state...
  • Dream Vacation: Somewhere without a lot of tourists...
